The Home Inspection Process
An important factor is the purchase of your new home is the Home Inspection. There are many issues that may come up in the Professional Home Inspector's Report for your new home:
- Inspect kitchen appliances to verify they are in proper working order. This includes the oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposer.
- The heating/cooling system should be check for the condition of the gas piping and electrical supply and supply wiring.
- The type and condition of the water system, water supply, sewer system or septic tank.
- Protective safety features will need to be verified they are in proper working order. This includes the smoke alarms, carbon monoxide monitors, burglar/security systems, sprinkler systems and the operation and condition of the locks, windows and screens. Safety features such as burglar and fire alarms, smoke detectors, sprinklers, security gate, window screens and intercom.
- Settling, sliding or soil problems, flooding or drainage problems and any major damage resulting from flooding, tornadoes or other disasters.
- The Disclosure Statement. Through the Sellers Disclosure Statement, sellers are required to indicate any significant defects or malfunctions existing in the home's major systems. Review this report carefully.
